Kiek

I had to add this cute little picture of Kiek - the lady who's passing along her quilting knowledge to me just about every Thursday.
She'd just finished piecing together her I Spy quilt.  I'm making one too, but am nowhere near as close as she is!

Cutest Nieces

I had to share the most recent videos of my girls!
Penny loves to blow bubbles.  I love this video of her and Adam.
Evie just learned to ride this little bike on her own.  Love the smiles at the end! :)
I LOVE THESE GIRLS!!!!

Muhammad Ali

I saw this on Facebook.  Not sure if it's true, but I thought it was a great metaphor.

An incident transpired when Muhammad Ali's daughters arrived at his home wearing clothes that were quite revealing.  Here's the story as told by one of his daughters:

"When we finally arrived, the chauffeur escorted my younger sister, Laila, and me up to my father's suite.  As usual, he was hiding behind the door waiting to scare us.  We exchanged many hugs and  kisses as we could possibly give in one day.
My father took a good look at us.  Then he sat me down on his lap and said something that I will never forget.  He looked me straight in the eyes and said, "Hana, everything that God made valuable in the world is covered and hard to get to.
Where do you find diamonds?  Deep down in the ground, covered and protected.
Where do you find pearls?  Deep down down at the bottom of the ocean, covered up and protected in a beautiful shell.
Where do you find gold?  Way down in the mine, covered over with layers and layers of rock.  You've got to work hard to get them."
He looked at me with serious eyes.  "Your body is sacred.  You're far more precious than diamonds and pearls, and you should be covered too."

Hanging out with Matt

I don't think I've mentioned on here that Robert has a super cute 7 year old son named Matt.  I thought I'd post about two of our recent activites with him.
Matt just got some baseball equipment for his birthday, so we took it out to the park for some practice.
Here's Robert showing him how to line up the bat and the ball.  We only played with the tee for a bit.  We did some pitching and had a great time.
Here's some of the action!
All Robert's coaching paid off.  Matt got a great hit!
A couple of weekends ago we went and saw "Wreck It Ralph" and played some disc golf.  I had to get  a picture of these two cuties between "holes."
We tried our best to get a picture of all 3 of us.  This is the best one we got of Robert and I . . .
and this was the best one of Matt.  We had a lot of fun!

Baby Wooby

I'm stealing this from my sister, but it is so cute, and I don't want to lose it.  I've already watched this TONS of times!
Adam's sister Whitney just had a baby girl named Ruby.  This is Evie telling about her new teeny tiny baby cousin Ruby.  So cute!

Engaged!

On Wednesday, February 13th, our team at work had a Town Hall Seminar/Dinner at Landry's.  Robert drove down and helped us get set up and stayed for the dinner.  Afterward, he took me on a little treasure hunt.
The hunt ended with me finding this treasure chest in Robert's car.
When I opened it up, there was a black velvet fabric covered with gold coins and the jewelry to the right.  There was also a ring pop there.  When I took that out and pulled out the fabric, I saw the ring box.  Robert took the ring box and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!!!  I said yes!
He did such a great job choosing the ring.  It's a halo round cut.
I love how low it sits and how smooth all the edges are.
It's very sparkly!
I love the detail on the band!  The pictures don't do it justice!
Not the best picture, but surprisingly, it was an afterthought and no one was around to take it for us!:)  It looks like we'll get married on May 11th if all goes as planned.

Chappell Group Party

It was time for another Chappell Group party.  They were nice enough to come out to my neck of the woods.
I made some Navajo Tacos and some pies for dessert.  They were a big hit.  These are two of my favorite people!
What a fun group of ladies.  I work with Linda (left) and the other 3 are wives of co-workers:  Elizabeth is Brad's wife, Michelle is Jake's wife, and Kristie is Michael's wife.
Here are the guys loading up their plates.  L-R: Brent, Brad, Jake, Neal, and Michael.
We were going to have a ping pong tournament, but spent our time visiting instead.  These 4 did get some doubles games in.  They were hilarious to watch.
Favorites from this video:  Brent singing "Victory" and Michael doing the neck slitting.  Funny!
I love when Michael says, "Yeah, that backhand just happened, Moon" and when Brad tells Jake to "just picture them naked."
Brent was nice enough to bring me some lovely lillies.
Rob and Jan brought me this cute Christmas cactus.
I really enjoyed having everyone over.  Robert was there too and it was fun to mix those two worlds for the first time.
This wasn't from that night, but Rob and Jan gave Linda and I both these plants for Valentine's Day.
