Moving!!!!

Many of my blog readers know that my dad is employed by my Church.
For 24 years, he taught religious education as a "seminary" teacher for the Church Education System. He primarily taught high school age kids M-F in a release time setting. The seminary building was right across from our HS. He was transfered from our home in Joseph City, AZ to San Angelo, TX in 2001.
There he taught Institute which is geared toward college age kids. He has a building just across the street from Angelo State University there.
Aside from being the Institute Director, he also oversees the early morning seminary programs in the area and in lots of surrounding areas in west/central TX.
After almost 9 years, he's being transfered again. He's leaving Texas and heading out to . . .
WASHINGTON! There, he'll be over two large institute programs. I guess they're pretty near Seattle and some other cool areas.
I actually hadn't been to Washington until last October when I went to visit Susannah and Adam. I flew into Spokane, but haven't been to the side of the state where my parents are moving.
It looks like a cool place and I'm excited for them and excited to go see that part of the country. I'm especially glad that my parents and brother will be only 5 hours from Susannah and Adam. I'll be the lone ranger out here in TX!

When are they moving? And there's a solution to being the lone ranger...move to Utah! (Seriously, if you're interested I know of a great charter school that's hiring.)

Great post! We are excited for your folks, only wish that Washington wasn't so far away. It will be similar to all those years of Uncle Dean being WAY.... up there.

We definitely have mixed emotions... hard to leave family and friends, but excited to try something new. We know what we're doing is right and that makes everything good! Thanks for the post Alona!

How exciting!! This will definitely be a fun new adventure for your parents. (And a good excuse for you to see some pretty areas of the Northwest, right?)

I think I forgot to say that they're moving in June. They just need to be there before the start of the next school year! Andrea, tempting. How much they pay at the charter school?

oh, I'm sure you have mixed emotions. I think Matt feels like the lone ranger with all his family in Utah and nearby. Texas is a wonderful place.

Aren't you glad the church will move them and you don't have to drive a truck with their belongings? We are still forever greatful to you and Susanna for helping us return to Zion!!!! Are you going to help your mom unpack? Love you and know you will be lonely but greatful for airplanes and airport so close.

Wow . . . we need to get you up north (or west . . .) since that seems to be where the majority of the Bushmans will soon be! I can't believe that your folks are heading to Washington - but it will be too cool for Susannah and Adam . . . I think they'll be closer to Auburn than they are to Boise. Thanks for such an informative post - was going to check out Auburn on google . . . but no need now!
