Saturday Night

We had our ward Christmas party last night. The Relief Society was in charge of planning it and I'm glad it's finally over! It went really well, though.

Everyone was so helpful! I snapped this one of Kelly and Kim working on brownies for dessert. Kim came to sing at our program portion, but we put her to work in the meantime.

Here's a shot of some of the people in the kitchen. We had potato casseroles, ham, green beans, and Texas Roadhouse rolls. Everything was so good.

For the program, the primary kids sang three songs, there was a great trio, and then Kim sang her song. We did some caroling after that and Santa came and gave little goody bags to the kids.

That night we also had a surprise going away party for Nate since he's moving in a couple of weeks. The funny thing was that it was all girls and him. We did invite guys, but none could make it. We had a good time anyway.

Lake Houston Camping

I had another camping trip this weekend. This time we went to Lake Houston State Park. I actually didn't take any pictures on Friday night and by the time I took these on Saturday, we'd already lost two of our party - Katherine and Tatum. Sorry, ladies!

After we got up and threw the frisbee around for awhile, we went on a walk around some of the trails. We found this little outdoor classroom and Jared taught us a little geology lesson. This picture cracks me up because it looks "heavenly." It was a little humid out there and when I pulled out my camera, it fogged up.

Here are Wendy and Nate being good students. The weather was so great out there!

I had to do a timer shot, of course. The little river was so pretty. True to character, Nate is being ridiculous.

We found a cool little beach on the river and this great bridge that we had to take some pictures on. Here's a pseudo engagement shot for Jared and Kristin.

They're getting married on February 26th!

We were trying to get a picture of him hanging from it, but he was having a hard time finding something solid to hold on to.

Scary! I'm glad it wasn't me up there.

We were a little wary camping here because these signs were everywhere! Luckily we didn't see any except for the ones in the nature center behind glass.

What would a camping trip with Nate be without him stealing my camera and taking a picture of his rear end? Lovely.

Christmastime

When Jen and I pulled into the temple on Wednesday evening, we were in for a nice surprise!

These statues had been added to the very front of the temple grounds just as you enter the gate.

It was so pretty. We waited until after our shift before I took these photos. I love Christmas!

On Saturday I went with my cousin Dannen and his family to the Kingwood Nativity exhibit. Scarlet was also in town and it was great hanging out with them for a bit.

This is unrelated to Christmas, but I have to put a plug in for my friends who just opened up their new salon this week. It's called Bella Sorella and is at the corner of W. Lake Houston Parkway and Kings Parkway. Check them out!

You'll have to indulge me for these last few - or just quit looking, I guess. I spent a lot of yesterday cleaning. It was very dark by the time I was done and I was home all alone, so I decided to amuse myself by lighting a bunch of my Christmas candles and taking pictures.

Oops, this one is not candles, but I did get these cute lights at IKEA that I put with my nativity set and the "Peace" letters I made at Super Saturday.

Thanksgiving in Boise

I was lucky enough to travel to Boise for Thanksgiving.

Susannah and Adam picked me up at the airport. Susannah called when I was still at baggage claim and said that they were "kind of" in a cop car. It was definitely a cop car. Adam's brother in law, Rick, let them bring it to pick me up since it was better suited to the crazy weather.

When we met up at the airport, they said I'd need to put my stuff in the back seat with me because Rick had called and told them not to open the trunk because his automatic rifle was in the trunk and he didn't think that would go over very well at the airport.

Adam had some fun putting me in the car later on.

While there, we did some shopping and there was a HUGE camping chair at this place called Cabelas.

We also stopped by Adam's sister Andrea's house to check out here baby bunnies. They were so cute!

We kept trying to get close-ups of their faces, but the camera wouldn't focus. You can kind of tell in this one how cute they were!

Thanksgiving morning I went for a jog with Adam. It was about 10 degrees and very icy/snowy on the roads. Luckily the Warrs had these handy little things that go over your shoes to give you traction.

For breakfast that morning, Deej made these delicious cinnamon rolls.

Just looking at them makes me very hungry!

Since I brought a bunch of stuff for Susannah's baby shower, I just brought everyone's Christmas presents too. I had some time one day so I wrapped them up. I thought they looked really cute, so I had to take a picture!

My parents and brother got to Boise on Wednesday evening. Vic was going to take them flying on Thanksgiving morning, but the winds were too strong. They did get a nice look at the plane, though.

Finally, to the part you've all been waiting for - cute pregnant shots of Susannah!

This one might be my favorite. I loved watching her belly move when little Evie would move around.

We also loved feeling her move.

During the shower, we kicked the guys out!

It snowed almost the whole day of Susannah's shower (Saturday). It was very pretty out there, though!

Here's my mom and me just before the shower underneath the clothesline of stuff I got Susannah for the baby.

Here's a shot of some of the blankets on the gift table. Susannah pieced the quilt on the far left and my mom quilted and bound it. She also crocheted that white blanket on the left and made the one just underneath the pieced quilt. I gave Susannah the green and brown blankets, but TJ monogrammed them for me along with the cute pink blanket she sent with me for Susannah.

Deej made this awesome dress for Evie for her blessing day.

Julie made a duplicate of a game we played at her sister's baby shower. It's a celebrity baby game that's a lot of fun. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Adam's sister Whitney made this ridiculously cute owl beanie for the baby!
