The end of a decade!!!!

I can't believe this school year is over! Furthermore, I can't believe that after 10 years, I'm leaving teaching to try something new! I had to post about my last few days at PFE.
What first grade school year can officially come to an end without some sort of production? We put on our Little Red Riding Hood Reader's Theater for the parents a few weeks ago. These 4 were my actors for Little Red. We switched at scenes so more kids could have parts.
I didn't put all the pictures on here, but this one cracks me up. These two were the "grannies" in the play.
Here's the class in front of the background the day before we did our play. It turned out really cute.
The other day I pulled up to the school and saw this terrible sight! Our school was majorly tagged by someone. This is after it had been power washed too. They've covered it up now, but how sad is that?
On the last day of school (yesterday) we had a yearbook signing outside under the pavilion. The kids were crazy, but they looked cute in the bucket hats we gave them.
Here's my awesome team!
. . . and my crazy class.
I had to jump in the picture with them one last time.
After the kids had gone home, they called the staff into the library and it was a surprise party for me that my team had thrown. How sweet! They made it Hawaii themed because they knew I loved Hawaii and that I'm going at the end of the summer.
Here are 3 of the culprits.
Here we are again. These ladies are so sweet and I have loved getting to know all the great people at PFE. I'm sure I'll really miss everyone, but am looking forward to this new chapter in my life!

I'm sure this qualifies as a bitter/sweet experience!! Sad to say goodbye, but exciting to try something new. I'm very proud of you for 10 years of teaching AND of being courageous and taking a big leap of faith. I love you!!

Dad has a comment to make too, so he's using my account.
From one teacher to another, I just I should let you know I am proud of all you have done. It is easy to see that you were good at what you did because of the love and concern your fellow teachers had for you. They will miss you a lot and the kids will always remember their first grade teacher. It is hard to believe 10 years are gone already and your first students are in high school. You have made a great contribution in their lives and also their parents. Thanks for doing a great job. Love you, Dad
